Three More Feathers for Hempola's Cap.

Barrie, Canada.
Just a few short months after Hempola's participation at the American Music Awards, the company has seen more success and accolades. According to Kelly Smith of Hempola, "the company' sales are growing at a rate of 50 percent or better... these on-going achievements and awards certainly help us grow and get the positive hemp message out there."

The first of three of these achievements involves Hempola's Healthy Brownies. This innovative product received the "Best Baked Good - People's Pick" award at Toronto's Good Food Festival. Other award winning companies include: High Liner, Club House, Strub's and Ocean Spray.

Following this, Hempola launched its DEET free, all natural insect repellant -- West a-Nile-ate. Positive feedback came pouring in and in formal testing done this summer at the University of Guelph, it showed a 98.6% performance rating. The final report states, "West a-Nile-ate provided greater than 95% protection from blood-seeking mosquitoes in a field test using human subjects..." Hempola also promotes the product as an excellent rejuvenating lotion for skin; a combination of repellency and skin care.

Hempola was also on hand and included in the gift bags handed out at the Toronto Film Festival's opening of Woody Harrelson and Ron Mann's new movie, Go Further. There's also an interesting overlap to this. In a conversation between Woody Harrelson and Kelly Smith of Hempola at the film's opening night party, Harrelson commented on how well West a-Nile-ate worked for he and his family in a somewhat "emergency" situation.
