August Festival will be as Unique as Hemp Itself
Barrie, Canada.
Cannabis sativa is the latin name for hemp. Translated it means "useful plant." Experts peg 25,000 potential uses of hemp for a multitude of various products... from food, to fibre, to fuel, paper, construction materials, medicine, and on and on and on. Today several of these products are being made in many parts of the world, and Canada is becoming an active leader in hemp production and research.
An event which takes place this August 10th and 11th, will attract many of the emerging hemp industry companies and wares and present them to the public in a very fun and educational atmosphere at a working hemp farm. Visitors to the Hempola Family Farm Festival will be able to walk along educational "trivia" trails in the hemp fields, take hay rides, sample many nutritious and delicious hemp foods, attend seminars, converse with experts and hemp manufacturers, check out building materials in use and have lots and lots of fun... live music, crafts, beer and wine, entertainers and much more. Your kids will also be entertained and amused in the separate children's area.
It's being held right in the hemp fields... outside, under huge tents, inside history's first hemp straw "round house" and a renovated 1858 heritage barn. Being held between the hours of 10:00 am and 6:00 pm, Saturday August 10th and Sunday August 11th; Hempola Valley Farms is located adjacent to Highway 400 just north of Barrie at 2133 Forbes Road, R.R.#1 Barrie, Ontario, Canada.
